8th Workshop on Speech and Language Technology in Education 2019, September 20 - 21, Graz, Austria
I attended the 8th Workshop on Speech and Language Technology in Education (SLaTE 2019) in Graz, Austria, on September 20 - 21, 2019. SLaTE 2019 is a satellite workshop at Interspeech 2019 and took place at the University of Graz. The main aim of SLaTE is to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry working on the use of speech and natural language processing for educational purposes. Speech of second language learners is also atypical speech, like dysarthric speech, so I think it is interesting and useful to share my research on speech intelligibility of dysarthric speech to second language learning field. I gave a presentation about the paper 'Acoustic correlates of speech intelligibility: the usability of the eGeMAPS feature set for atypical speech' (you could find the paper here: https://www.isca-speech.org/archive/SLaTE_2019/pdfs/SLaTE_2019_paper_11.pdf).
